Our established infrastructure and asset management partner is seeking an Asset Protection Engineer for a six-month fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for managing asset protection across water and wastewater networks, ensuring that infrastructure is safeguarded through regulatory approvals, inspections, and customer engagement.
About the Role
This position is ideal for an experienced civil engineer with a background in land development, water infrastructure, regulatory approvals, and infrastructure protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory & Compliance Management – Assess and approve applications for access and connection to water and wastewater assets
- Stakeholder Coordination – Liaise with developers, contractors, and service providers regarding infrastructure impact and approvals
- Field Inspections & Audits – Conduct onsite assessments to ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards
- Customer Requests & Approvals – Respond to customer inquiries regarding works over or near linear assets
- Process Improvement – Develop and enhance efficient approval processes to support business operations
Key Requirement
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related discipline)
- Experience in regulatory approvals, contract management, or infrastructure protection
- Knowledge of water and wastewater networks, including transmission and distribution
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for interpreting technical information
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple approvals within tight timeframes
- Health and safety awareness related to infrastructure and construction environments
- 6-month fixed-term contract with a reputable organisation
