Embracing and supporting the concepts behind Whānau Ora through a number of integrated joint ventures with local District Health Boards and Primary Care Providers, Te Puna Manawa HealthWEST is able to assist and empower the West and North Auckland community to take responsibility for their own health and well being by providing information and pathways to clinical, justice, education and social services, by promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting healthy lifestyle choices and positive change.
Te Puna Manawa HealthWEST believes that the solution does not lie solely within the individual but also through the people around them, their whānau. By working together with whānau, they gain a greater understanding of the life challenges faced by the community and how best to develop an action plan to minimise, resolve or adapt to these challenges.
Alexander James supports Te Puna Manawa HealthWEST and their Rainbow Shed initiative through regular and ongoing donations of male and female "Dignity Packs", which includes:
A variety of clothing, toys, books, and homeware items are also supplied by the wider team.
Our relationship with Alexander James started four years ago in 2018. What an amazing organisation they are!
We were able to share with them the kaupapa (purpose) of the Rainbow Shed and the challenges our young people and families face when their budgets cannot stretch to hygiene products, toiletries, clothing, and blankets.
Alexander James responded quickly to support us in meeting these needs, encouraging and organising regular donations of much-needed goods. Not even the challenging circumstances of the pandemic could stop them! They have been so willing to work alongside us to help increase the support we can provide, engaging and getting on board extended whānau and others.
