In 2020, Winstone Wallboards announced it was relocating its manufacturing and FIS (factory information system) distribution operation from Auckland to Tauranga and this state-of-the-art facility would require a new workforce to service it.
Not only did Winstone Wallboards have some ambitious diversity and inclusion targets to meet, but they also needed a long-term recruitment partner who could work with them over a three-year period to deliver high quality talent.
After completing a rigorous testing process, Alexander James Construction & Engineering was chosen to be Winstone Wallboards’ recruitment partner for the entire Tauriko project, including service levels and responsiveness to fill business-as-usual roles.
The success of the relationship between Winstone Wallboards and Alexander James was consistently monitored through monthly reporting of previously agreed upon key metrics such as number of applicants per role, diversity of candidates applying, channel to market, time to offer, and time to close-out.
The Alexander James Construction & Engineering team recruited 100% of the required roles four months ahead of the Winstone Wallboards target and got to know the business, their people, and became a true partner to their internal hiring team.
