Stuart is a Founding Director of Alexander James and has more than 14 years’ recruitment experience in both New Zealand and the UK. In Stuart’s previous role he was General Manager and owner of Kiwi ex-pat portal Track Me Back. Using this experience Stuart is regularly involved in assignments that require offshore sourcing and search.
Random Fact: Stu moved around a lot as a youngster due to being part of a military family; he has called Cyprus, Germany, Canada, and the UK home.
Tim founded Alexander James in 2011 along with Stuart Maxwell after a number of years in Senior Management positions for some large international recruitment businesses in New Zealand. Tim specialises in sourcing for roles such as Chief Executives, Chief Financial Officers, and Chief Operating Officers.
Keith joined the Alexander James team in 2021 as General Manager and brings with him an impressive history of working with some of New Zealand’s leading brands. Keith’s career has given him exposure across a wide spectrum of HR and business disciplines which has influenced his approach to the acquisition and management of talent. Keith specializes in recruitment, employer branding, sourcing, change management, talent management, leadership.
Random Fact: A few years back, Keith decided to try his hand at creating original art for his home and the results were so good that he started to receive commissions from impressed visitors!
Rebecca joined the Alexander James team in 2022 to establish a Wellington branch to service our existing clients based in our capital city, and to extend our reach into the local market. Rebecca’s reputation as an exceptional Senior Manager within the Accounting & Finance sector makes her the ideal person to meet this challenge head-on.
Random fact: In the first ten years of her life, Rebecca lived on four continents and attended 13 different schools!! That’s a lot of starting over and settling in.
A born and bred Wellingtonian, Lauren joined the team in 2022 to expand our services in our capital city and to extend our reach into the local market. Lauren has previously managed a Professional Services team and specialises in all aspects of Recruitment from Contract/Temp to Permanent across both Public and Private sectors. Lauren is an expert in the HR Sector and looks forward to expanding your teams/finding your next role.
Random fact: Lauren is an avid sports fan (particularly rugby) but admits the only gold medal she could be in contention for is watching trashy reality TV shows (ahem, Love Island anyone?).
Susie joins our Wellington team as an Associate Consultant and is looking forward to the challenge of supporting a growing team. Susie is new to recruitment but her background in catering and hospitality and customer service means that she will not only be calm under pressure but is well placed to build relationships with candidates as they continue their journey to success.
Random fact: Susie was born with a hole in her heart and is still classed as a paediatric out-patient!
Kim joined Alexander James in 2015 following ten years in various recruiting roles. Kim heads up our Accounting and Finance Contracting team. Kim is responsible for recruiting across all levels of Accounting and Finance in the contracting space.
Random fact: Kim is a long-time and loyal fan of New Zealand’s longest running soap, Shortland Street.
Sally joined Alexander James in early 2015 and is currently a Senior Consultant in our Contract Accounting and Finance Business Support area. Sally looks after contract roles such as Account Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Assistant, Payroll and Assistant Accountants. Sally has more than 10 years sourcing, search and recruitment experience in New Zealand, the UK and Canada.
Random fact: Sally was once petrified of flying but didn’t want fear to hold her back from experiencing the joy of travel so she underwent hypnotherapy, and it worked!!
Casey joined the Alexander James team in 2018 after an extended period of travel. Casey has a passion for people and joined the team to invest in her professional development and is now a highly effective Consultant specializing in sourcing specialist talent in our Accounting and Business Support space.

Simone (pronounced Sim-mon-ee) joined the Alexander James team as a Senior Consultant in 2022 and is quickly making her mark recruiting for the Accounting & Finance sectors. Simone has been working as a talent acquisition specialist and diversity champion for over 18 years.
Leanne joined the Alexander James team in 2011 having worked with two large recruitment businesses in a support capacity for a number of years. Leanne has extensive experience in candidate and client management and is warm and engaging consultant who has built long standing relationships across the board. Leanne is responsible for supporting our Contract Accounting and Finance team.
Random fact: Leanne has a gift for finding the best “bottomless brunches” and often makes this a monthly meet-up for her best friends to find the time to connect despite their busy lives.
Lucy joined the Alexander James team in early 2020 with a focus on sourcing the best Accounting and Finance talent in a contract capacity. Starting her recruitment career in 2010, Lucy has always had a focus on Candidate Management within the executive Accounting and Finance space and has a passion for this area.
Random fact: Lucy speaks French badly. She’s on a learning journey alongside her bi-lingual children as their Dad teaches them his native language.
Amanda joined the Alexander James team in 2022 as a Consultant dedicated to working in the HR space with over 15 years of experience within the industry. Having worked as an internal recruiter for some high-profile organisations, Amanda is looking forward to sharing what she knows about talent acquisition with us.
Random fact: If home is where the heart is then Amanda’s soul resides at Hahei Beach. She spent her childhood holidays there and is continuing the tradition with her own children; it’s her happy place.
Sophie initially worked with Alexander James as an intern and enjoyed the experience so much that she officially joined the team in 2021 as an Associate Consultant working in support of our Accounting & Finance and Human Resources team. This is Sophie’s first full-time job after completing her tertiary studies and is excited about being able to put what she learned at University into practice in the real world with real people.
Random fact: Sophie is a fraternal twin, but that’s not even the interesting part – there are seven sets of twins in Sophie’s wider family!!
Ann-Maria joined the Alexander James team in early 2018. She has an extensive background within the IT and Telecommunications Industry which has given her an understanding of the unique needs and skill sets. Ann focuses on Digital, Data and Technology roles in a permanent capacity – which includes (but is not limited to) Project Managers, Analysts, Engineers, Technical leads, Architects, Developers and more.
Random fact: Ann was born with a hole at the top of each ear (similar to ear piercing) which is generational from her dad’s side.
Sarah joined the Alexander James team in 2019 as an Associate Consultant in the Digital, Data and Technology team before stepping up into a Senior Consultant role in early 2020 to focus on contract recruitment. Sarah has a strong customer service and administration background and prides herself on delivering exceptional service to clients and candidates.
Random fact: Sarah is an accomplished equestrian having ridden a gorgeous horse named Bali for the better part of ten years when she was growing up.
Katie joined Alexander James in early 2017 and has a background in digital sales in a SaaS environment. Katie is now part of the Digital, Data and Technology team and actively recruits permanent roles. These include (but not limited to) roles such as; Project Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers, Data Specialists, IT Managers and more.
Random fact: Katie threw caution to the wind and did what so many of us can only dream about; eloping to Las Vegas!!!
Georgie joined the Alexander James team in early 2021 as a Consultant. She has come from a software start-up company, with experience in People and Operations. Georgie has a passion for people and prides herself in building exceptional relationships with candidates and clients. Georgie is part of the Digital, data and Technology team at Alexander James and she is tasked with sourcing specialist talent for Contract roles.
Random fact: Georgie is a touch rugby fanatic and has been playing the game she loves since she was 5 years old!!
Rebecca joined the Alexander James team in 2021. She has come from a diverse background in sales, tourism, and hospitality. Rebecca has a passion for relationship building and prides herself on her ability to connect with people. Rebecca is part of the Digital, Data & Technology team, and her role is to resource talented IT candidates in the permanent space. Rebecca leverages modern tools and techniques to source the best candidates in the technology domain.
Random fact: For her role as Guide in Fiordland, Rebecca learnt basic te reo Māori and tikanga Māori so she could do justice to the area and it’s tangata whenua.
Caitlyn initially joined the Alexander James team in 2022 as an intern and then became an official part of the Digital, Data & Technology team a few months later as an Associate Consultant. Caitlyn’s excited to apply all that she’s learned at University into practice by helping match people with the right role for them.
Random fact: Caitlyn’s family are long-time dog lovers but what makes their pet ownership unique is how they make a point of naming them for popular Sesame Street characters; Elmo and Cookie replaced Bert and Ernie.
Having spent a number of years in the recruitment industry, Marie has worked with Alexander James alongside Tim Slyfield and Stuart Maxwell since Day 1. Marie is our Finance Manager and she has more than 20 years’ experience working in accounting.
Random Fact: Marie is a keen golfer and while her handicap is strictly need-to-know, she’s happy to share that Waipu is her favourite course to play.
Monica joined Alexander James in 2018 as an Accounts Administrator. Monica has held a variety of administrative roles within the insurance and financial sectors and recently within the area of tertiary education.
Random fact: Monica loves desert-type places and has managed to visit Botswana and Syria (before the wars); next up on her list is Oman.
Frances joined the Alexander James support crew in 2021 and is working on bringing our story to the masses. With a background in marketing and communications in the digital space, Frances is looking forward to helping the team share their successes and raise the profile of who we are and what we do.
Random Fact: Frances can often be seen wearing a wee safety pin, and when asked about it she says she wears them for “safety” and has done so since high school.
